Need some assistance tracking down an issue that affected over half of my home systems after an update
Symptoms: After a yay update, ALL my computers that had Intel/AMD graphics suddenly lost hardware acceleration. (That’s 5 systems). Everything from a 5700 XT to the integrated graphics on a i5-3470. Now, that last one was never great but it didn’t used to max out my CPU just to watch a youtube vid (and be choppy at that). Another symptom is that cool-retro-term (my term of choice) refused to open with the following message:

Other programs that rely on hardware acceleration (such as moonlight) will pester about there not being any.
Remediation: I tried everything I could think of; Checking to make sure amdgpu module was loaded, verified correct drivers were installed and not somehow uninstalled during the update. Looked over the logs with journalctl to make sure there wasn’t some hardware issue. So far, the only fix was reinstalling the system. I would prefer not to do that on the four remaining.
As stated before, the hardware is all over the place. Older DIY, three dell desktop/minipc systems of various models, and an acer laptop. The only systems that were not affected was the gaming rigs with nvidia cards and one All-in-one that had a mobile nvidia chip.
