With the release of the new July ISO I was able to install EndeavourOS on my laptop that has an i5-1035G4 processor, and now I have EOS run on all of my devices. Huge thanks to the developers and the community!
I ran glmark2 on two laptops: one with i5-1035G4 and the other with Ryzen 5 3500U and the results show that the Ryzen 5 blows the i5 out of water: ~2500 v.s. ~1200, more than twice the score!
I know graphic performance of AMD processors is usually higher than that of Intel processors, but did not expect this much difference.
Those numbers don’t look right.
Here’s my results on a i7-10710U which is supposed to have much weaker graphics than a i5-1035G4 processor. The i7-10710U has a UHD620 iGPU while the i5-1035G4 has an Iris Plus 640 GPU, which is supposed to be at least 60% better than the former.
Keep in mind that you’re not comparing the CPU, but the iGPU. If I remember correctly, the AMD Zen-based APUs include Vega units which provide a full, but slimmed-down, GPU. The Intel iGPU is basically designed to run a couple of monitors and let you watch video.
My other score was my arch install. Which i havent tweaked very much. Below is my manjaro install on the exact same machine, which i have fully tweaked.

I skipped the stuff in the middle because IT had stuff in the middle, including some lua errors from my conky Quite a difference, though. Maybe I should retry on its own?
My ryzen 5 2400g is stock everything… I am running on an nvme drive though not a ssd… Other than that my system is just stock gear though i did build it… nothing is overclocked.
I dont have endeavour installed yet but i have artix (no systemd) and heres the output just on the ryzen 5 2400g apu

Gonna install endeavour on the sabrent rocket q nvme with the other arches (arch, manjaro, artix) and see what it does with the ryzen 5 2400g apu before inserting the rx570 and trying that out…
So far though i have the manjaro set up for gaming with it (Elder Scrolls Online), the others not so much just yet and the manjaro glmark2 outshines the other distors perfomances… at least with the 570 installed…
I built mine too, and made sure not to push any clocks - even memory (which I should have). I just wonder if I crippled anything else from lack of knowledge - that’s a pretty big gap in performance! Oh well - if I want speed, just switch machines…
