Google's trying to DRM the internet

Yeah, but what are the alternatives to chromium, except Firefox? There is none.

And Mozilla is heavily influenced by Goolag, since they get most of their money from it.

Yeah thatā€™s the problem, other option would be Safari

I agreeā€¦It would also help if Google wasnā€™t the top financial backer of Mozillaā€¦Which means itā€™s de-facto monopoly.
Also the whole internet is raped by Google Analytics on nearly all websites everā€¦ :weary:

Safari? Proprietary Apple crap that doesnā€™t even work? No, Safari is not an option. Iā€™d rather use Lynx.

In fact, Iā€™m considering switching to Lynx.

Your usual browser is so hardened - you wonā€™t even notice the difference

Yeah, but thatā€™s easily avoided, at least for now. Just block all cross-site JavaScript. Sure, youā€™ll break half of the websites, but I assure you, nothing of value is lost. Nothing.

Someone should revive Netscape Navigator and make a modern version of it.

Thatā€™s Firefox.

The problem is the www. Itā€™s full of soyware like JavaScript, multimedia, fancy cssā€¦ All of those frontent frameworks. Itā€™s all bloated crap. Back in the day, it was mostly hypertext and and a couple of images. Every kid with a C compiler could make a browser. But now, itā€™s all BLOAT. Complicated bloat nobody understands.

Back in the day, you could comfortably browse the web using a dial-up modem. Now you canā€™t comfortably browse the web using a 500 Mbps connection.

Gosh, I hate what the web is in the current year.

you and thefrog.

And there I thought you were at least once correct in your life. I was wrong. :man_shrugging:

I was correct you canā€™t take a joke.

I can, it just has to be funny. Calling people names and saying they have ā€œbrain fartsā€ is not funny, itā€™s just bad taste.

You and I both know I didā€™t call anyone here names and the joke was funny.

We all know the internet has already transitioned into mainstream media, but in 50 years or so, will onion sites be the new internet? Or be the defacto internet as we knew it in the 90s to early 2000s?

Letā€™s try that again. Main Stream Media is heavily conservative right now and has been. The net is still basically half and half.

Respectfully disagree. Internet today is basically TV these days. My definition of ā€œconservativeā€ may differ from yours

Not even close to accurate.
