Gnome 51 (51.0) is out today!

Well…Gnome 51 is out!! Still in gnome-unstable… It’s ready to use!! I just update the metadata.json files to the current version. All my extensions worked…so, all good!

Bro thinks he’s using KDE…

Anyway… :muted_speaker:

Just because you prefer a different DE doesn’t mean you can’t be happy for someone else being excited for the next version of their preferred DE. Not everyone has to prefer the same thing when it comes to DE, Distribution etc.

I think @ddnn was referencing all the “Plasma’s out! Update!! Update!!!” threads

Oh like that lol  Haven’t seen any of those so I must have missed out on those.

Thanks for reporting that Steam issue happening with Gnome 51 RC1!

Waiting patiently for the update to the repos

When we see 51.0-1. On a note: if anyone has a custom cursor…you will lose it for a while. Currently, the default cursor is bundled with GNOME Shell. It will take some time for customization to catch up with the change…

I saw the Steam regression as soon as 51 went from Beta to RC1…It worked as normal in the Beta & Not in the RC… I gather it was a simple fix…glad the devs got it done in time for the release.

Curious when Gnome 51 will hit the Endeavour repositories

Generally, Arch waits until the .1 release to push to main. Most of the Gnome stuff is currently in the testing area… so it won’t be too long now.

can’t wait

had a look 5 seconds ago. gnome 51 is now in extra repo.

to speak as the KDE guys:

51 is out - update - hurry, hurry…

Now we wait for Gnome 51.1 point release
