That’s good news! Thank you so much for sharing the info @fhireman!
Is anyone here using GNOME 48 on a touch screen device? I’m trying it out on my Surface Pro 8. It seems that touch related functions, like moving windows around and scrolling through websites or in applications, in GNOME 48 are noticeably slower (about 1/2 the speed) than KDE Plasma. I noticed this with older versions of GNOME also, but I thought this was caused by the lack of triple buffering. GNOME 48 has triple buffering, yet touch screen windows moving and scrolling is still painfully slow. The Impatience extension doesn’t fix this, BTW.
@hoosfoos @mbod @fhireman and others having issues with the brightness control slider in the quick settings menu.
The issue seems to be resolved with the latest update to gnome-shell:
[ALPM] upgraded gnome-shell (1:48.0-1.1 -> 1:48.1-1.1)
Good catch. Yes, it does seem to be resolved for me as well, with the latest gnome-shell.
Actually didn’t notice it when I rebooted after that 48.1 update but yes it’s resolved now ![]()
thanks for the heads-up
