Give me some suggestions for films to watch!

I have watched so much Netflix & Prime that the only things I haven’t watched are Nicholas Cage films  He does three films before breakfast.

I am now watching Jason Statham (Blitz), he couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag, but is better than Scott Adkins, who I had never heard of until lockdown, I have seen logs act better than him…

Not a movie but a series on netflix: Sweet Tooth I enjoyed it.

Films by Aki Kaurismäki, a Finnish filmmaker. But that really depends on your preferences.

Have you watched Xtreme yet on Netflix? If you enjoy Blitz you’d probably enjoy it. Same basic vein of thought. Great action sequences, thin plot, passable acting (course I watched the English dubbed so that voice acting was pretty good, no clue about native Spanish actors). If you like mindless action flicks, this ones pretty awesome. And the fact that the main guy is MUCH bulkier and more muscular than a lot of the action stars and STILL doing the same moves…dude is IMPRESSIVE. I’m hugely envious.

Big Kurosawa fan here. Some of my favorite are Ran, Kagemusha, Rashomon, Sanjuro, and 7 Samurai.

My five favourite films are:

  • Psycho
  • Vertigo
  • Notorious
  • Rear Window
  • North by Northwest

I really like Hitchcock’s films.

Me too. I love all the films on your list, but my favourite Kurosawa film is Stray Dog. I also love High and Low.

There are quite a bit of old '70s and '80s martial arts movies on Netflix right now (if you’re in to that sort of thing). Some are pretty cheesy but that’s part of the appeal for me

Keep 'em coming! Martial arts not my bag.

@Kresimir I am a big Hitchcock fan, have seen every one of them a “few” times

Any specific genres or styles you’re particularly interested in?

Nice! They’re in my watch list, I might have to bump them higher now!

I like the old school kind of movies. Just to name a few :
Die Hard (up to part 3)
Demoltion Man
Hunt for Red October
Speed (Part 2 was crap)
Alien saga
Predator (the first two movies)
The Boondock Saints (both movies)
Equilibrium - Killer of emotions
Enemy at the gates
Eat the rich (if you like a great soundtrack; Lemmy Kilmister starring in that one)

There are some more recent movies that I like too :
Sucker Punch (great soundtrack)
Bunraku
Crank (both movies)

And of course a lot of old school horror.

If you’re interested I could recommend some more
