I guess it depends which change you are referring to and which things that would be considered compromises vs new changes.

If we are talking about the original change from this topic. The current state is a compromise. The main category page was reverted and the boxes style was retained inside the top level categories.

It is entirely possible I am misinterpreting.

When someone repeatedly refers to a group of people as a vocal minority it feels like a deliberate attempt to marginalize their opinions. It is, of course, possible that wasn’t deliberate and it just happened in the flow of conversation.

It supports multiple themes, that would solve it.

It depends which change we are talking about. Some of those changes are global and apply to all themes.

It was only an expression for my perception of the number of posters and the tone of some of the posts.

@pebcak The reason why the banner disappeared was because of the lack of functionality to close it permanently.

The reason why the search bar disappeared so quickly is that something came up in my personal life that will result in me not being that active on the project for some time.
It isn’t a matter of winning or me caving in because of reactions.

Of course - the one solution to the search bar not mentioned is the one I use… if you don’t logout, it doesn’t come back! I tend to check in multi-times per day anyway…
