Let him who do without AI be the first to throw a stone
Now, we’re excited to invite you to help shape the work on our next innovation: an AI Window. It’s a new, intelligent and user-controlled space we’re building in Firefox that lets you chat with an AI assistant and get help while you browse, all on your terms. Completely opt-in, you have full control, and if you try it and find it’s not for you, you can choose to switch it off.
I’m not a fan of AI being jammed down our throats by big tech. I do however think it is a good tool if used properly for a specific purpose. I also want it to be my decision whether i use it or not so optional is the only way i would ever want AI implemented on anything. It should be users choice.
Well i do understand why they are doing this, trying to make money of the AI Hype, i am also glad it is opt-in. At least it is a choice rather then in your face.
I predict, and that is pure a personal feeling!, that AI will end just like the dot com bubble in the 90’s
However some parts of AI will remain that actually helps for example in healthcare or science
With AI becoming a more widely adopted interface to the web, the principles of transparency, accountability, and respect for user agency are critical to keeping it free, open, and accessible to all. As an independent browser, we are well positioned to uphold these principles.”
^^ Incoherent babble
Doesn’t matter what they do. As long as there is about:config one can dismantle anything.
If they ever take about:config away then we all lose. Until then rock on.
Am I the only one who thinks that AI will turn out to be the Borg? If AI becomes self-aware, and it could, humans would be seen as a danger that needs to be assimilated or wiped out.
If you were a self-aware AI and saw the stupid sh*t humans do–like poisoning the only ecosystem that keeps us alive–would you not come to the conclusion that we are a dangerous species?
So perhaps the only thing the rest of the living beings in the ecosystem could thank Homo Sapiens for would be the creation of the AI. Not such a bad trade off if the principle of life matters.
That s assuming the rest of the living beings in the eco system could thank Homo Sapiens…I see what you did there. You answered one fallacious argument with an other.
I guess any one capable of seeing a bit further of the tip of their nose could imagine an ecosystem without Homo Sapiens. If so, it is not a totally erroneous assumption that the rest of the living beings in the ecosystem would be much better off without this “Biological Weapon of Mass Destruction”. The “thanking” part was a “figure of speech” so to speak,
“Akse” is a term in Danish and Norwegian that translates to “axis” or “axle” in English. It refers to a straight line around which an object rotates or a central part of a wheel that allows it to turn
