Fatal: could not create work tree dir 'jetbrains-toolbox'

When I update system using yay -Syu today, I get

:: 1 Packages to upgrade.
1  aur/jetbrains-toolbox  1.26.0.13072-1 -> 1.26.1.13138-1
==> Packages to exclude: (eg: "1 2 3", "1-3", "^4" or repo name)
==>

[Aur:1]  jetbrains-toolbox-1.26.1.13138-1

:: (0/1) Downloaded PKGBUILD: jetbrains-toolbox
 -> error fetching jetbrains-toolbox: fatal: could not create work tree dir 'jetbrains-toolbox': Permission denied
         context: exit status 128

in the end, I have never run into this before, why and how this happens? and how can I fix? Thanks!

Fixed after a restart, AND realized I used sudo yay -Syu just now… now updated successfully using yay -Syu, not sure which fix the issue.

probably a cache issue.

Also
yay is the same as yay -Syu.

So no need for 5 extra characters :wink:

Never use sudo with yay.

It’s good that Jetbrains sorted out its inner conflicts. Hopefully it can find peace now.
