I found this video by Brodie Robertson a Linux YouTuber and streamer. According to the video, Kernel compiles times going to be improved a lot with the newly proposed method by Ingo Molnar this is nuts.
Gosh, that sounds like an insult these days.

Akhchually, that almost qualifies him to speak about Linux.
But, if it complies faster, how am I going to heat my house ?

You need clang for 88% improvements - but the 77% for gcc isn’t that bad either! If it works for me, that should take it down to the 1 minute range…
That must have been quite a rampage though the headers to produce THAT improvement! Hopefully the dev gets the props he deserves for this!

On my rig I get around ~40% with defconfig and 60% (gcc compiled) with the arch kernel config. Still quite an improvement though.
