Is this the correct model number? Also does it have an ethernet port?
No, excuse me, i eat one letter. The model is MFC-2750DW.
The printer is correctly connected to another computer. There it works right.

Never mind it does:
It would be most beneficial to connect this printer to your lan via ethernet cable. You can then set a static IP in the printer configuration and tell any computer to print to that IP address.
no, it is connected to usb on another computer. The connection of computers to internet is by ethernet. Excuse if I say someting wrong. I am not a computer scientist.
Connect printer with CAT5 cable to LAN then do this:
Maybe, but i have not another ethernet.
CAT5 cable? I don’t know it.
Choose however you want to purchase.
Thanks. I take that into account.
What surprises me most is that despite so many configuration errors, I can print.
In short: in localhost only one printer appears and says that it is not connected. I can’t print on it.
But if, for example, in Firefox I want to print a page, I get TWO printers and if I choose the one that does not appear in localhost, it prints.
I have to qualify the above. I can print from Firefox, because I get a second printer, as I said before. But I can’t print in other applications, for example in Okular. In this one only appears the printer that doesn’t work.
I cannot get over my amazement. I deleted Endeavour and reinstalled it with Mate. The first thing I’ve done, BEFORE TOUCHING ANYTHING, is to go to localhost:631 and I’ve found that I can’t connect.
Unable to connect
In order for the printer to work you have to have cups installed. Then you have to install the driver. I have brother printers and they are one of the easiest to set up. Usually they just work. But, you have it set up on another computer which makes it a network printer and if it has ethernet on it. Then that is the way i would be hooking it up so that it can get shared from the network through the router with the proper ip address of the printer.
The question here is - did you put a checkmark beside the ‘Printing support’ in the installer? If not - then install the minimum necessary parts of the printing capabilities. I had the same problem with a weird Apple html file replacing my .conf file (repeatedly) but I didn’t track it down. I started from scratch with installing only what was needed to print - in your case what is needed to print over the network.
If you work through the wiki on here - ONLY do the parts that you are sure apply to your use case! (for example - ignore the stuff about HP printers).
There are lots of people that have things going well - and Brother printers usually have the drivers available - so it shouldn’t be too bad. Hang in there!
that indicates that you do not tag printer support.
I installed printer support at the time of the Endeavour installation. I also connected the printer to the usb port of this computer. Everything was useless.
I thank you very much for all your attempts, but I have already given up. The same thing happened to me with Manjaro. Something is not working properly in ArchLinux. I am going to uninstall it. The end.
Thank you all very much.
Hello,
I installed xubuntu and the printer worked at first, without having to do ANYTHING, no configuration. So Endeavour and/or ArchLinux still have a way to go…
Thanks.
Yeah sorry it didnt work out… sometimes it can be small, or looking the wrong side…
But You’re stil welcome on the forum, just dont be a stranger
For your info: in Manjaro also printer config is OK.
Thanks.
So it might be a good idea to have a closer look at the working configurations and compare it to the one you have using EndeavourOS. That might give a hint to what went wrong.
Things to compare would be :
Used driver
cups version
cups configuration
firewall status (open ports?)
Just to name a few obvious ones.
I really cannot believe that this printer does not work as a network printer when running an Arch based distribution.
Which OS are you using on that second computer? What protocol is used to connect these two computers?
You will need to set appropriate rights as you are not connecting directly to the printer. I guess rights in Arch based distribution are more restrictive than in the other OSs.
Just my 2 cent. There are still some things unclear.
