Euphonica - MPD client

She can look as “cool” as she likes.

But why can’t she read tags correctly, like Sola-mpd and rmpc do?

Dunno, besides, why are you asking me? xD

But to try to answer your question anyway: “probably because it is under development and not yet at 1.0”.

I said that if you focus only on the appearance, you can lose a lot in really important functionality…

Moreover, in other clients (examples given above), this has been successfully implemented.

That is, you can’t get far on beauty alone. A set of properties is important.

Still not sure what you mean. I simply stated it looked good for being client side decoration rather than what I prefer, server side decorations (ie what I set my desktop environment to follow).

Design and functionality. One does not have to exclude the other and has nothing to do with each-other besides precieved user experience.

Are the clients above you mention also pre 1.0? Do you also compare the taste of raw meat to cooked meat?

Me, I applaud ALL open source software, be it if I find use for it or not and wish the devs all the best. I feel no need to try to cast shade because I might use something else.
I have never understood that mindset.

We have some kind of strange dialogue…

I’m not criticizing anything.

I’m just stating the facts, why I don’t like (I’m not satisfied with) a specific program. For me, the appearance is somewhere in the last places. Much more important is clear interaction with the interface and the correct display of tags…

You OPINIONS are not FACTS.

And “complaining” about missing features in a beta project is like complaining about raw meat not tasting as good as cooked.

I feel pretty confident that full standard functionality will be implemented when reaching 1.0.

I don’t want to argue more, just found it strange being pinged with strange arguments when all I did was complementing a software in development.

Not at all. These are facts for me that prevent me from using the program.

Well, I’m not at all sure about that. How long has Cantata been around (a model for me in terms of interaction)? But she was never taught how to display tags correctly…

And you must admit, it’s really strange, at least, listening to a track with one main performer, to read the name of the last invited performer in the program…

P.S. If you can’t quote my words where I say that the program is “bad”, don’t talk about my criticism of the product.
