It was fine but when I upgrade to Galileo Neo, problem happen. Is there anyway to fix?

The server crashed at 09:05:30. The timestamps in the logs you provided do not match the problematic timestamp, so they are not helpful.

It would appear that mssql-server coredumped when it failed. What is the output of this command?

$ coredumpctl list

No coredumps found.

What about this?

$ coredumpctl dump 16277
No match found.

Its weird. I dont know but i tried reinstall the OS many many times but the problem still there. I tried to check in google and it said that was some core dump problem. All methods not work now. I also have problem with building python and rstudio (undefined reference to soci::soci_error:). I set my locale to Asia/HoChiMinh (vi-VN). Is that cause the problem? I installed apparmor, fcitx5 and nvidia too, should I install more stuff or install less? I setup the OS and use it directly. Should I install some locale stuff because it said
locale: cannot set lc_ctype to default locale: no such file or directory .

I fixed it. After moving to Manjaro, the problem persisted. I found out that linux 6.7 is crashing mssql so I comeback to 6.6 and problem fixed. I think that we should add a note so other users wont be confuse like me. Thank you. Anyway can you help me about the python and locale problem? I want to install endeavour os, I want to set my locale as Vietnam, Im dualbooting and the clock on my windows 11 is always wrong and my main usage is for Data Science stuff. I will move back to Endeavour OS soon

Can you elaborate on what you mean by “building python”? Python doesn’t require building; it can be readily installed from the official repos. And by rstudio, are you referring to rstudio-desktop-bin from the AUR?

“It” said. What said? What were you doing when you got this error message. Your question is too ambiguous. Please clarify.

Also, what is the output of:

$ cat /etc/locale.gen

you do know that mssql-server is a AUR package, so you might need to recompile it regularly when it breaks due to updates?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_User_Repository

If you want to run a server, it is better to use the linux-lts kernel. It is aimed at being used in servers.

No. The rstudio-desktop one because the rstudio bin one not need to build the package. About Python, I install python from yay and it will build python, just like when you build a tar xz package i guess. About the locale problem, that what happen after i ran the command: locale

I install it from yay and i compile it from git too. But mssql-server is using rpm stuff i guess… When i install it from yay it also compile the package. 6.7 kernel really broke mssql-server. How to build it the right way?

What does $ cat /etc/locale.gen say?

On manjaro now, but when i was in endeavour os, it was exactly like this:

# Configuration file for locale-gen
#
# lists of locales that are to be generated by the locale-gen command.
#
# Each line is of the form:
#
#     <locale> <charset>
#
# where <locale> is one of the locales given in /usr/share/i18n/locales
# and <charset> is one of the character sets listed in /usr/share/i18n/charmaps
#
# The locale-gen command will generate all the locales,
#  placing them in /usr/lib/locale.
#
# A list of supported locales is given in /usr/share/i18n/SUPPORTED
# and is included in this file. Uncomment the needed locales below.

# Locales enabled by Calamares

I didn’t see that. Then it is up to Microsoft to fix their stuff and release an update …

If you can, you might want to take a look at MariaDB as it should be an open source MySQL alternative.
https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/mariadb/

personally, I only use postgresql at work.

Edit: Or switch to the linux-lts kernel like already mentioned above until MS get’s their act together (not sure how fast they are, I have not used anything made by MS in years …)

Your locale.gen file looks fine. To set a locale, those locales have to be generated and enabled first. You can do that by running sudo locale-gen.

To set the locale, you can use localectl set-locale LANG=vi_VN

+1 to the recommendation by @BS86

I’ve been using mariadb for over 2 years, and have never once encountered any issues.

Tried it and the problem still presist and it not affected much so not a big problem. But about the dual boot windows and EOS, the time on EOS is current while the windows time is wrong. Anyway to fix it
?

Linux uses UTC hardware clock, Windows local time hardware clock. You can change windows to also use UTC:

Thank you. I will try soon

I have returned to EOS and the problem was fixed after I reverted back to Linux 6.6 kernel ( you can use any build you want, lts, zen, hardened,… ) . Things works like charm now. A big waste of time just to fix a easy problem. Thank @anthony93 and @BS86 for help me. EOS is my daily driver now, for sure. Hope other users who faced the same issue can read this so they won’t spend much time on fixing this like me. EOS community is so good and friendly.

Isn’t it easier to just run such applications in a container, they have an official image?
https://hub.docker.com/_/microsoft-mssql-server

Not a fan of docker… But will learn it soon. Thank you for your suggest
