This is just a post to praise EOS i3wm that has been polished to date. I absolutely love it!

Everything is ready to go, wifi and other icons are there, rofi looks and works amazingly. I just installed it and grabbed my laptop to go to work. Again, this setup is a blast. The only thing I need to change is the font size from 10 to 12 and I am ready to go.

Anyone else wants to praise EOS implementation of i3wm, this thread is to let it out!

I also like i3 set up the way it is. It doesn’t need any changes. Install and use with minor setting changes. :+1:

I can’t resist an invitation to praise EOS/i3 … I have it installed as my daily driver(s) on a 2019 iMac desktop, a 2011 MacBookPro, and a Dell Optiplex tower. Each installation presents slightly different pros/cons, but it shines in each.

I’ve spent a good bit of time with other distros and other DEs, but this Arch-based distro + the i3wm is tops in my book.

Most importantly, each installation feels like home. :ok_hand:

I have tested almost every popular WM and i3 seems be my home too. BSPWM is close but I stil like i3 more.

The setup is the most community-created one also i do start creating this, in the beginning, the number of community contributions to it is a major part of the setup now.
And this is exactly what makes it great to be used as a basic setup or simply as it is.

I don’t want to start a distro flame war, but I agree the EOS i3 is the best.

I learned about, and came to love, i3 on another Arch-based distro. I’ve tried many, many different desktop environments and keep coming back to i3.

The EOS i3 just works! All sorts of little annoyances on the other i3.

I appreciated the work and attention to detail. The comments in the config file are close to a text book on i3.

I like EOS version of i3wm for sure.

I’ve mostly modded what’s shown on the bar to better fit me but apart from that the rest is basically the way it came.
