If the laptop is moved or shaken, eos freezes and becomes unresponsive - I can’t even switch to tty.
The only option is to power off using physical button
what command outputs do I need to provide?

Sounds like a hardware problem inside.
I run a dual-boot system with windows - this problem never occurs when I’m using windows so I assumed that it was an EOS issue
That indicates a hardware issue, impossible to tell exactly what fails, but a loose memory module or harddisk/ssd connection is likely.
On Windows this is no problem? I would re seat memory modules and run memtest (or any other memory tester)
I don’t see the logic in that just because it doesn’t happen on Windows. I would check for some loose connection and or as @fred666 posted resetting the memory and check hard drive connections etc.
As a general rule, software doesn’t care about what’s physically happening to the hardware it’s installed on (unless that software is specifically intended to look out for it, like a thermal sensor or perhaps a gyro or something of that ilk if we’re talking specifically about motion )
Issues when moving a machine absolutely point towards loose connections or outright hardware failures in 99% of instances - it’s possible that Windows isn’t affected due to differences in the way the OSes interface with the hardware in your machine. For example - is Windows installed on the same drive as EOS? If not, it could be that the drive containing EOS has a poor connection or is failing, so of course Windows would not care if that drive is working correctly or not because it has no bearing on the running of Windows.
When I check the system monitor it shows me that I have only 7.1 GB Memory installed when I have 16 GB installed - is this related?

I like your avatar. Could blend in with my neighbors
Mm if you have 2 8GB modules installed then yes.
It could be that one of the modules is loose or bad connection.
Clean the contacts of the ram module with a piece of printing paper, fold it around the contacts and move it back and forwards until the contacts are shiny. you will notice that the paper becomes black.
Do this for both modules but don’t touch the contacts with you fingers and discharge yourself before doing this
Re seat the modules
