Eos-arch-news only works with firefox and chromium

looks like at some point eos-arch-news used xdg-open, but due to some bug it was changed to only work for firefox and chromium https://gitlab.com/Austcool-Walker/PKGBUILDS/-/commit/ce29e1109bdc14c99b56d0673995338bbbeaf1a2

i don’t have either of those browsers installed (am using google-chrome from AUR). are there any plans to switch back to using xdg-open?

I thought that is the reason the news didn’t work. I uninstalled Firefox, use Waterfox instead. Hopefully that can be changed to just a ‘default’ browser setting.

just tried undoing that change (commented out the browser stuff and used xdg-open instead) and it works on my machine

Is it acting the same on Live ISO about xdg-open ?

On live iso there is firefox available. Is this what you meant or something else?

Nope, in the case to open a file ?

xdg-open {file | URL}

xdg-open should work the same on the iso and an installed system. It can open urls and files.
