Envycontrol not switching to dedicated nvidia gpu

Hi recently i have been trying to use my rtx 4060 on my hybrid laptop with envy control, but the problem is that it does not detect my gpu even when i turn on nvidia mode it switches back to hybrid on xorg and wayland i tried everything but with no luck can anyone help.

Maybe try this:

  • make sure proper Nvidia packages are installed
  • uninstall envycontrol
  • blacklist the integrated GPU
  • poweroff
  • plug the monitor to the Nvidia GPU
  • boot

Now you should have only Nvidia GPU in use.

thank you il try it

i did a fresh install and my gpu is in hybrid mode again

Although the reason for the problem was not clear, I’m glad you have it solved now. :+1:

sory but i switch to nvidia mode and it still shows this

sory to bother

it only works on xorg thought

Did you blacklist the integrated GPU driver?

how do i do that?
I dont want to use the dgpu exclusively, i would like to be able to switch to integrated and hybrid mode since my computer is a laptop i have to take in consideration battery life

If all works on x11, then I’d use it, regardless of any wayland promises.
Wayland still has several issues, it is not ready for general use, especially on Nvidia GPU.
