Dual-boot Win11 + EOS

There is no turn off setting. I just select either

  • OtherOS or
  • Windows UEFI mode

Are you asking me to try change to Windows UEFI mode and see if I can get Windows to start?

That’s slightly different than my UEFI. If you select Windows UEFI then what does secure boot tab have in it?

I added another picture post above.
Will go check BIOS if it gives options.

No additional settings shown when selecting Windows UEFI mode.

I would clear the secure boot keys then go back and try the install of EOS.

Cleared. Still error.
Where are the super gurus when they needed? :pensive:

Maybe I needed before I proceeded with Windows install to change Windows UEFI mode I didn’ t have it as that. ??

Did you try this ^^ ?

Well i have installed Windows 11 a few times here and i think the last time i use replace a partition but it doesn’t give you options. Ive installed it numerous ways. Installed Windows using whole disc and the shrunk the partition. Installed Windows on smaller space like you have and installed alongside which automatically shrinks windows and installs and i think you can drag the slider so that you could shrink the current install down to 200 GB. The only issue is that it doesn’t give you options on the install. So you would have to change that on the EOS install after. I find it all a pain to have to do but at least for me my installs are very fast so i can change it very quickly.

I think you should try what @pebcak suggested and try using another efi partition for eos instead as it will find Windows anyway with os-prober.

This is what I setup. Should be fine? No error btw.

Btw I have Nvidia card do I need these?!

If you have nvidia card you should be booting on the non free or nvidia option on the live ISO otherwise it installs nouveau open source driver and you have to install nvidia after which could be a pain or not.

Yes I did boot with nvidia entry (1st one). It said ā€œfor latest cardsā€

If there are no errors now then hopefully it will install now. It probably has something to do with the efi partition and Windows secure boot settings when you installed Windows and it’s not letting it write to the efi partition in Windows? :man_shrugging:

Edit: This is my guess anyway.

The partitions look good!
Did you go through the installation now? Everything got installed?

Do I need those gpu drivers:

  • amdgpu
  • ati
  • intel

I have Nvidia GTX 1660 Super.

You should be just leaving the settings have the base selected and then select your desktop and printing support. I don’t know if you are looking at this in the base files? Just leave everything.

Edit: Some things you can remove after if not needed. I would just install.

I feel like i got so much pressure on me… i can’t take it anymore. :worried: Failure’s not an option!

It is installing now. I am waiting for some error to sneak in
Its like Christmas you never know what you will get.
