your way of connecting it would have been the next question i had, because i use the one with 2 USB A and 1 HDMI port as i dont have the “only usb c” cable that they sell seperate.
Before buying it (mine is the xp-pen artist 13 gen2) i read a few comments that this “3 in 1 connecter” thing often breaks if you are not careful as there is some sort of design flaw and the cables inside are a bit fagile or something.
If u use only usb c you wont have this issue, but it could be that you dont recieve enough power and it will cause issues.
As of my earlier comment about the driver, you can use the official driver, if you want. but you will have to deinstall the other drivers for the tablet.

you will get their app along it that you can use to calibrate stylus and tablet and so on
but if you are happy with your current driver its fine, as long as it doesnt cause any issues for you
