Downtime forum and websites June 2025

As you have noticed, the forum and websites were down.

The reason for it was an unpaid bill from November 2024, which I was aware of because the host’s payment system had not deducted it from my bank account.
Normally, a customer would receive a notice with a payment link by email or in their account. None of it happened, and the bill was marked as paid for months in my account history.

Yesterday late, I received the notification that the server was cut off from the network without a reason.
Later, I discovered the November bill was marked as unpaid, and this morning I contacted the help desk and explained the history, and they needed a service ticket, so I created one.

Technically, I didn’t receive a response yet, and I was surprised the service was back online again.
Since I don’t have a proper answer, history MIGHT repeat itself this weekend or on Monday.

I hope not, but if so, you know the reason.

I’m very sorry for the inconvenience, and I surely never had an administrative reason like this before for the project.
I also want to stress that we are not in financial trouble, nor is the project in danger. It is just a crease in the road.

Have fun and love,

Bryan

Yeah shit happens :man_shrugging:
I hope you didn’t get any extra fees?

This reminds me of the time an government TV bill didn’t get payed because THY did not take my money as usual and I had like 20 bills on auto pay at the time.

So I didn’t notice or get any messages from the government… Until months later at which thy had of course added a lot of extra fees :grimacing:

And of course the support did not help even if THY were the once who F up.

Well i ended up paying 90 euro at the time way more then usual cost.

And yes i did tell their support to go F themselves at the end.
True story!

No worries here. I ran into the outage myself and figured there was a simple reason for it.

From my history, I was fully expecting a whole brand new forum where I had to sign up again and the old one was lost to the ages. . . .

This outcome is definitely better. Thanks!

Thanks for the work you do. Yeah, I noticed it was down for awhile and thought it was because of all of the banning going on in the banned thread and that the server had gotten banned.

I mean that’s pretty petty of them. No telling how much you spend with them, they shut you down because of one unpaid month, without even reaching out? Some one isn’t doing there job there. I blame these dadgum thinking machines taking our jurrrrbs! :robot:

I noticed the website was down for a while also. . . . not a big deal unless EndeavourOS disappears from Linux in totality. Glad your still with us giving us the needed support and information we all need.

uhmm i udated my system 17/06/2025 not so long ago and all whas good and working also read or try to read all new topics and some others… and for forgetting to pay ;p i know this can happen (been there done that) lolz
anyway for me also counts < > am happy all is good and back on track
Greetz to everyone

Everything is sorted now, the extra fees charged originally were a discussion point. But the provider discovered the issue was a bug in their payment system and not a lack of payment from my side, everything got sorted out gracefully.
Now, we can move on further and like the original issue, I also considere this thread solved.
