do you check install scripts? or how much often do you check that you have suspicious code in you system
It depends,
Packages from the Endeavour or Arch repro (or Manjaro for my other system) I usually trust.
Packages from the AUR it is very depended on the popularity and use case of the package. But I did check various of the build files and some code of my AUR packages.
For regular Git projects I almost always take a look at the install scripts and in code blocks as far as Iām able to.
But frankly I often lack the know-how to really fully understand all of the code or often even anything. Especially if it is driver related.
This Question in combination with this thread
really have me question your motives. Should your IP be turned over to the authorities to check out for illegal activities? I mean in one thread you ask about infecting peoples machines against their will to push YOUR agenda on them then you come and ask if we check our install scripts? What the F@CK ARE YOU DOING?
I think you need to be investigated.
