Sounds like we all came across similar conclusions about the tracker and tracker-miners packages (thanks for the 2nd and 3rd set eyes.
More about tracker here (for others who are like me reading the forums):
So with a rested brain, I ended up checking the laptop I built for my wife last month and it only had the tracker3 and tracker3-miners installed.
I also did check the dependencies as recommended:
❯ pactree -r tracker
tracker
└─tracker-miners
~
❯ pactree -r tracker-miners
tracker-miners
In the Gnome Gitlab I did notice when then transitioned to tracker3, that not all programs were ready. So this is why they had the older one hanging around. But as@pebcak mentioned … looks like they fully transitioned over.
So the end solution is just to remove the packages as nothing needed them:
❯ sudo pacman -Rns tracker tracker-miners
