I have been using BitWarden for a long time, but at work we use 1Password. Frankly, 1Password is so much better in every way; features, UX, organization, etc. However, I’ve been using rofi-rbw as part of my Desktop Environment to pull up and search for passwords, copy them to clipboard, or directly type them into the active application. (Before you ask, yes, I have personally audited the source code for this project multiple times.) I’m finally pulling the plug and migrating everything to 1Password.
I’m trying to find an equivalent application to work with 1Password, but the projects I’m seeing are 5+ years out of date. Can you point me to any tools like this? Even if it’s not dmenu/rofi I am open to seeing other options.
TIA
Yeah 1Password is the best!
As for using “rofi-rbw” I have no clue? And do you really need it with 1Password?
as it has all functions one can need.
Yes because it behaves the way I want for quickly pulling up a password and auto-typing it into an active field. The 1Password client quick search thing can only copy to clipboard. It’s been so much more efficient to let rofi-rbw directly type the password in with a single keystroke. Adjusting to copying then pasting is an extra keystroke which will quickly add up over how many times I have to type tons of different passwords.
Sure BUT isn’t it a security risk to use it?
Not if I’ve personally audited the source code with my own eyes, and review changes every time I update.
I’m not looking for security advice.
Okey then.
Just a question out of curiosity.
