sudo paccache -rk2
would be more save to use as it will keep last two versions or minimal
sudo paccache -rk1
to keep at least one prior version to have it in case to downgrade without been able to download from internet…

Why is the option I wrote less safe?

sudo paccache -r

Leaves three recent versions to fall back on, unless you need more space, than you can choose the rk 1 or 2 option.

oh yes right i do forget the defaults :wink:

Because with the -r option it clears the cache automatically.

With the option or prefix -d it informs the volume of the cache.

$ sudo paccache -d

==> no candidate packages found for pruning

That’s the point of the whole article, it clears the cache automatically, except the three most recent versions of each package.
