So cool to see a photo of the International Brigade. My great uncle was scholar and academic and he joined the Brigade in the 1930s to fight in the Spanish civil war against Franco’s fascists.
People from all over the world joined up, they could see what was coming.
My great uncle was from a sleepy fishing village in the north east of England. A great man.
