Customizing Zsh (Learning)

So, why doesn’t the tty use 256 colors? I assume it is due to not knowing what hardware is present until it does a test? If that is the case, why couldn’t I change my kernel parameters to say I have X hardware so please use Y terminal? I know this is out in the weeds, but I am curious.

That’s just how the kernel is written. Probably some backwards compatibility issue or something.

I’m pretty sure it can be changed, but I’ve never looked into it. I’m not sure if it involves changing the kernel source code and compiling it, or just some kernel parameter…

so my questions are :

I saw here that is not good idea to fully set zsh to all users ,including root user ? so what to do ?
Atm every time when I run konsole, bash, I type : zsh

To edit aliases , should I use it directly from terminal or via editor ?
