Ctrl + W behaviour like Ubuntu

I am trying to figure out a way to have CTRL + W close any application window but when in a browser for it to first close open tabs until finally closing the final tab and its corresponding window.

When mapping the keystroke to default “Close Window” command in the Keyboard Shortcuts settings, windows close fine but when doing the command in a browser with multiple tabs it closes all the tabs at once.

You might have to press CTRL+Q instead to get what you want only in Firefox. Otherwise use another web browser.

Thank you! That seems to be an alternative solution which I guess is more “native”, but it’s not exactly the way it works on Ubuntu or some other operating systems. I will try this as it shouldn’t be a big deal to get used to it. Nonetheless, if anyone has the exact solution to the query above, sharing it will be well appreciated.
