• After kernel update: no need to run the command

• After additional kernels install: yes, you need to run the command for the new kernels to be added to Grub’s boot menu

• After Grub, the package, update, it is recommended to run:

  1. grub-install
  2. grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
