There was some discussion on old thread considering League of Legends. I simply made this post to inform those who seek to install the game on Linux that it is now impossible due developers implement of Vanguard anticheat.
There is no known way to circumvent this at the moment.
The only workaround would be to install an android emulator and play the mobile versions (TFT and Wild Rift)
TFT is functionally identical on mobile to desktop. I just play it on my actual phone though.
In the meantime I guess we’ll have to wait and see if a determined wine developer will figure out a way to fool vanguard into thinking it’s installed at the kernel level, withuot actually being installed at the kernel level, like that naticheat helldivers used. And how riot games would react to that (chances are they won’t care, vanguard isn’t for anticheat, it’s just spyware, league of legends never had a problem with cheaters, not ever)
I know that and assumed that was common knowledge, but then saw this:
Someone had created account just to help dude who had problems with creating entry for it to desktop. So I thought that it could be good to remind people of this.
Because there can be a situation, where someone tries installing and playing LOL and then curses EOS and Linux in general to the Angband and gets hissy fit when told about this.
