Back in March, after updating, Wayland was acting really weird especially when trying to play games. I posted about it on here and was able to then switch to x11 which fixed all of my problems.
Then maybe a month or two ago (I’m so bad at estimating time), after updating again, when I would start my computer u would just get a black screen. I figured out that I could 1) wait forever, it would finally launch but be super buggy, have to restart, log out, switch to x11, and log back in or 2) restart using pc tower power button while it’s in that black screen, log out, switch to x11, log back in. This worked for a while until today.
I was a away for a few days, and had my cousin staying at my apartment cat sitting. They took out an external storage of mine and replaced it with their own so they could play their games on my computer. Before they left, they put my external storage back in. First day back from my trip, it was stilling working like how it did when I left.
Then today: turned on my computer, got the black screen like normal, try to restart using pc tower but it’s not responding to me. I keep trying but eventually it just launches but super laggy, basically unusable. So I try to restart it using my mouse to click restart, doesn’t work. Pc tower doesn’t work, absolutely nothing will work. It’s been 15 minutes and I’m desperate. So I unplug the pc tower and plug it back in (the secret everything-solver that has saved me many times before) but it won’t turn on. Usually turning my mic on will turn the pc on, but that won’t work. I tried the power button on the pc tower, that won’t work. I wait another 10 minutes, still nothing works.
I’ll try to upload a photo of my system info (might be slightly outdated cause it’s from when I posted in March, and I obviously can’t turn on my pc rn to get a new screenshot)
Any help would be very appreciated. I rely on this computer for school work and engaging in my special interests (bg3 — I’m autistic and kinda need to engage in my special interests regularly in order to function normally)
