I too am a little conflicted over this issue. I wholeheartedly detest PC culture which to me is just a newer form of censorship. It is a weapon disguised as âdoing the right thing.â The problem is, by whoâs standards?
On the other hand, being also a sexual being that aims his arrowâs preference in the direction of men, and who has fought as far back as the 80âs, marches on Washington for gay rights and womenâs rights, protests against a president who couldnât utter the words gay and AIDs, hence no funding for a cure for those inflicted. It was a fight for rights and survival for many. It also continued to pave the way for a much greater acceptance to LGBQT+++ occurring today. I understand and so should everyone, that there is a history behind words and before you fling them out haphazardly, know that history and use them wisely, or not at all.
There is also a place and time for everything. I love to go see comedians (because I LOVE to laugh, at everything) who donât hold back, the more offensive, the better. I also donât expect to hear that same form of satire necessarily in social setting such as these. Know your audience and respect those around you. EwwwwwâŚI just shot a rainbow flag out of my _ss.
