Cloned hard disk , wifi adapter not found

Hello dear friends

I have two identical Lenovo x230 tablet laptops. One is fully functional with Endeavour-os with a lot of applications and settings. So I cloned the hard disk with Clonezilla and put one into the second laptop.

Everything works as supposed but wifi claims that a wifi adapter is not found.

May it be that the two laptops have a different wifi adapter? I do not know, but what do you suggest to do?

Boot off a live install media, see if you can get the make / model from inxi after you log in to the wifi.

I did what xircon suggested. Many thanks!

The live install media wifi works. So tested the same commands on the live install and on the cloned disk installation.

But I found no difference whatsoever. They gave exactly the same results.

So perhaps I am not sure I understood what you wrote.

Can you show us the output? From each?

inxi -Na

Live working`

[liveuser@eos-2021.08.27 ~]$ inxi -Na

Thanks, now some difference in Device -2 does exist

Everybody without words?
yes the two outputs are pretty similar, but may it be possible that the wifi of the non working setup only needs to be somehow activated? Perhaps update or reinstall the wifi adapter?

After all the other functions of the computer work, including tablet Wacom settings, orientation turning etc which are rather complicated.

Did you try

sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi
sudo modprobe iwlwifi
sudo modprobe iwlwifi

This one worked. Many many thanks @ricklinux. Problem solved. :revolving_hearts: :sparkling_heart:

I tried to modify the thread name to mark it as solved. But it did not allow me to do that.

You just click on the three … on the post that solved the issue which is post #7 and select solution.
