Well it shows what you see but not really for me at least. There shouldn’t be any reason for it to not create the user. All i know is the install process works extremely well if you have good internet and proper mirrors. So depending where your location is and what mirrors it is using can have an impact on that. What mirrors can you try of countries close by. I wouldn’t use WorldWide.
Germany, Sweden and maybe USA?
Edit: I’m not sure what it is auto selecting based on your location.
I switched from a Wi-Fi connection to a USB-tethered one, and updated mirrors before installing. I picked countries close to me (Austria and Slovenia), then I clicked the other two “update mirrors” buttons. The results were exactly the same as before. Installation log: http://termbin.com/8tnd
I get the sense God does not want me to install Linux. This is like the 5th or 6th distro I’ve tried on this Samsung Galaxy machine, and they’ve all failed to install in various ways – nothing but Windows works consistently.
If it makes any difference, I noticed I keep getting input/output errors on the LiveCD OS after about 10-15 minutes of running it, and various programs (e.g. Gparted) start and immediately crash because of those errors.
Yeah, I prefer using US English, but it sets Croatian as the default whenever I connect to the internet (since that’s where I am). I set it to US English whenever I can, but sometimes I forget. Anyway, I’ve tried to use the online installer probably like 15+ times so far in total, sometimes with one language and sometimes with another, and I haven’t noticed that it made any difference.
Nothing. It got to approximately the same point, but it crashed without even an error message, that was the only difference – the installer just suddenly closed and that was it.
