Can't readd my Steam Library from second drive

Hi, I recently reinstalled and went to add my Steam library from my other drive, however it wasn’t recognised. The drive is mounted as /DATA and when I choose to add an additional library in Steam, /DATA shows up but there is no + next to it and I cannot add the ‘SteamGames’ directory as I have done many times. Does anyone know what is causing this?

Thanks

ntfs?

no, btrfs. I have used the library on several distros

Can you open steam in terminal and see if it spits any errors while process of trying to add library?

I did - no errors though

Can you post the output of inxi -Fxxxza --no-host

also journalctl -p 3 -xb

I’ve got it working [after a fashion] - I moved the ‘steamapps’ folder from inside my ‘SteamGames’ folder to the root of /DATA, added it in the add library screen in Steam and it worked fine. It seems it can’t be deeper than the root folder.
EDIT: I can also add a new folder (called whatever I like) to the /home folder but not any other drive

Does steam always core dump like that for you?

don’t know to be honest - it’s a fresh install. The problem with adding a different directory has only just started happening too. The ‘Failed to start Load/Save Screen Backlight Brightness of backlight:acpi_video0.’ error is always there though, can’t seem to get rid of it - it’s very irritating.

I had this also on my AMD Ryzen machine with amdgpu graphics driver.

Check first:

systemctl status systemd-backlight@backlight:amdgpu_bl0.service

It should show as loaded and active.

Then you can try disabling the other service:

sudo systemctl disable systemd-backlight@backlight:acpi_video0.service
