Cant open nfs/smb from file manager

hi all

for some reason if i go to network and click on my network shares from file manager it doesnt open for me to browse it was working before so dont know what changed. i have tried smb and nfs and same thing. but i can access if i type smb://ip/share/ in the file manager.

systemctl status samba.service ;

journalctl -xeu samba.service ;

systemctl status samba ;

lol i thought that pritty screenshots would be better then quotes

For text output, text in code blocks is always preferable to screenshots.

That being said, that service is for sharing over samba not connecting so unless you are sharing things over samba from that machine you should disable samba.service.

Can you share what file manager you are using and what you are clicking on specifically as well the exact error you are receiving?

lol ok text in code blocks next time

ok i’m not sharing from my endeavour machine but i’m from my omv box. anyway i used to go to network and then there are icons of the shares and i would click on them and copy stuff from my endeavour machine over to my omv box

the file manager i have installed is thundar 4.16.8.
when i click on the icons described above there is no error it just doesn’t open anything.

shall i maybe rather mount the shares as you have helped me with before?

I think thunar uses gvfs. Do you have the packages gvfs and gvfs-smb installed?

If they are nfs shares you might also want gvfs-nfs

That is what I do with any frequently accessed shares. Theoretically, it shouldn’t be a requirement though if it isn’t your preference.

if i type yay gvfs apparently i have
