Can't disable XP Pen autostart. Help

Hi, I recently installed this atrocious software. After struggling for about 30 minutes I finally found it in /etc/xdg/autostart , deleted it and for almost a week it was fine. Now all of a sudden it’s autostarting again. I checked the autostart folder, it’s not there. I also checked in the system settings autostart ( ~/.config/autostart). Can’t find this thing anywhere. Any ideas?

What software are you refering to? Might help to find a solution

What command did you use to deinstall it via pacman or yay, which package was installed in the first place?

Could be this?

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xp-pen-tablet

Sorry, didn’t realize the title would be worded poorly for people unfamiliar with the software. Yes it’s the XP Pen driver software. I didn’t realize there was a package for arch tho. I’m gonna give that a shot in the meanwhile. I downloaded it from their site last time.

It is not in the official repos.
It is in the AUR: Arch’s User Repository.

I would suggest to uninstall the one you have first.

Ah… Maybe worth reading a couple of articles about package management on Arch. The EOS welcome app has nice links and resources. Highly recommended.

@Zircon34 that’s not the problem itself tho, it’s a problem for another day. By the way I use yay to install stuff normally and I am 99% sure I messed up the search by either 1 word or 1 “-”. That’s why I resorted to downloading it from their site.

@pebcak uninstalled the old one. Installed this one, went into autostart, deleted the file, logged out, logged in (sddm froze for some reason and had to restart lol), was greeted by the app. Actually malding right now. So, how can I disable the autostart then?
I did exactly what the last comment on that package says to do.

I am afraid I am not aware of any other places to look for than /etc/xdg/autostart and ~/.config/autostart.

Perhaps you could list the files that get installed with the package and see if you find some clue there:

pacman -Ql xp-pen-tablet

On first glance nothing stands out, I will have to go through these. If you think otherwise lemme know.

I’m gonna mark that reply as the solution because the next day it started happening. I dunno what happened. I just deleted the autostart file, it was still happening and the next day it wasn’t. Well, thanks. I hope it never comes back lmao
