Hi there, trying to install on a dell inspirion laptop with a 7th gen i5, on an ssd.
UEFI mode, safe boot, CSM and TTP disabled. AHCI mode.
The install goes smoothly and with no issues, online install, erase disk option, tried both Systemd and grub.
Problem starts when I try to boot. Getting 2 error messages.
Failed to flush random seed file: Device error
Error opening root path: Device error.
Then it goes into a dell hardware check screen.
I’ve tried re installing multiple times and the error persists.
Latest ventoy version using grub2, also tried balenaEtcher. Tried plasma and xfce(offline) but no luck. Checked the ssd with crystal disk and appears to be completely fine.
Laptop was working normally with ZorinOs prior to the install.
Try with CSM enabled. So safe boot is disabled right?
Yeah safe boot is disabled. I believe I tried with csm enabled on one of the first installs, before I read that it is suggested to disabled it.
Equipped with Nvidia GPU? and using Nvidia boot option?
inxi -Gaz
shows GPU details.
I do see only this:

Partitition is looking fine …
Install seems not to be encrypted… so this errors could be related to an issue with Basic system setup in your Bios… may secure boot is not fully disabled … or it is getting reset and reanabled.
And could also be an issue with RAM or CPU …
No nvidia gpu. Safe boot is disabled and has been every time that I check, same with fast boot.
Boot logs in case they help.

i would try to update Bios/Firmware… shows a kernel issue directly related to CPU and Bios/system
I updates the bios and did a new install, no luck.
As I need to use the laptop decided to install windows while I sort this but the installer got stuck in copying files 0% and if I try to delete partitions within windows (live or the installer) It gives me an error or gets stuck.
I thought it might be the ssd falling but I tried a different one that I know it’s working and it get exactly the same problems. Any idea what might be going on? The laptop was working just fine a couple months ago before I stopped using it.
could be also RAM or CPU having an issue
I tested the ram for half an hour with Memtest64 and had no issues. How would you go about the cpu? Also I tried the previous ssd on my desktop and it worked no issues
As of also other OS is not running fine on the device… its the best bet that there is something with the hardware or settings on the device…
You could try selecting LTS kernel in addition inside install process it will boot on this if selected by default… this would bail out a kernel issues with latest kernel…
