Cannot boot into gui of live usb environment

An update.

I was messing around in another TTY of the failed live usb environment. I saw that the intel systemd service had failed. When I looked at the logs I realized immediately what was up. ‘PROPRIETARY MODULE, UNSIGNED_MODULE…‘. I knew it had something to do with secure boot.

It turns out that when I thought I had disabled secure boot I had actually disabled only fast boot.

Furthermore, there was no secure boot option until I disabled CSM support. I really flarping hate these modern BIOS options that disappear and appear as you make changes man. Why not just farping gray it out. And provide DECENT descriptions on what the options do. This shit is insane, well there goes my day.

I disabled secure boot and sure enough all the previously reported error messages still occurred but at least I got into the live usb environment.

Anyway, I get to wait for the install until tomorrow anyway since archlinux.org is down so it doesn’t allow me to update my pacman mirrors in the installer.

It really has been a day of farkups. Earlier, I chose the non-lts kernel for writing the main message of this post and wayland decided to crash just as I’d cut the text out of vscode and into the browser. I was almost about to fapping lose it when I realized I had a clipboard manager. And Endeavour has drafts as well. Some days are better than others

Anyway, I guess we can mark this as closed.
