Maybe some file got corrupted when writing the updated files to the disk. I don’t know for certain but it said it didn’t find something in Grub so reinstalling the package Grub was important I think.
The only thing I can think of, is that my system froze up during a game recently, so I entered a virtual terminal to reboot and ran an update while I was there. Maybe that could have done something?
Maybe. But why Grub got broken? I don’t know. If Grub package was also updated maybe something went wrong there. I am not sure but freezing could cause corruption too.
This is exactly what you have to do.
