Built in Camera on Surface Pro 5 does not work

I have made all the tings ( I hope ) which are listed on ithubs website for installing Arch - here for me Endeavour OS on my Surface Pro 5.

System istself is running finde with Plasma 6 but no Camera would be detected in Chees, Kamoso and other apps.

A test if any camera is detected i typed:

[root@surface ~]# cam -l

Has anybody here any experiences with this an has an idea for fixing this?

Have nothing to add here other than:

Aren’t you a rebel, installing Linux on a device made by M1cr0$0ft.

I see you, player.

PS: Hope you get a solution. :v:

The surface works super with KDE-Plasma 6 on Endeavour. There is purely no alternative to a usable tablet/keyboard on the market.

For me all is running fine on the surface, only LTE and the camera are a problem. All other works, touch is also OK

The camera on all Surface Pros does not work, if I can find the link, will post (I have an SP7).

Camera for Surface Pro 5 there is listed as working ??

¹⁰ Camera Work in Progress

It’s a work in progress. There’s more info if you scroll down. The numbers all have their own meanings, too.

Yep , have read it and done all the things listed under “10”. Have also written a report in the appropriate matrix kernel

Have contacted the DEV in matrix channel. He built a new surface kernel and with it Cam is working in Kamoso and Cheese. More has to bed done to get enabled also in apps like Firefox, Zoom … but a good start is made
