not possible to have this per user… and at all not an good idea to give everyone the edit forever option.

AMEN to that. ONLY the staff and the member that created the post should ever have the ability to edit a post or thread title. Allowing regular members to do so is asking for HUGE trouble. The feature is a bug.

Any TL3 can edit a thread title. Editing someone else’s post is limited to moderators. It is not possible for something to be a feature and a bug It is just a discourse thing.
