BTRFS: File system unmountable, no boot and access possible

Then “btrfs restore” won’t help either, as it tries to extract files without mounting the filesystem, so you need a target with enough free space.

Hi @ricklinux ,

that was what I needed. Problem FAQI can't mount my filesystem, and I get a kernel oops!btrfs rescue zero-log <mydevice>, and suddenly it is mountable.

Thank you very much.

Edit: I see that that solution was suggested before, and I decided not to do that because it looked like that would make significant changes to the drive. However, the btrfs rescue document page explained it would only lose about 30 seconds maximum. I might have read that wrong before, or I was not at the same documentation page.

I don’t know myself much about btrfs although i am using it also. I just pass this along and hopefully it helps? I don’t want to suggest anything to cause you any data loss. But i know this can happen easily. Hopefully this btrfs information is helpful in that regard.
