Have you tried unplugging the laptop and removing the battery for two minutes. Then hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then replace the battery and start the laptop.

tried this, with no effect
rfkill block bluetooth
rfkill unblock bluetooth
sudo systemctl restart bluetooth
Also, my battery has long since dead, the laptop is running on from the plug.
Then unplug for a time. Hold down the pwr button for 30+ seconds and then plug back in and start the laptop.
Looks like it’s using the proper firmware for the N2230.
Edit: You could try this.
/etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf
add
options iwlwifi bt_coex_active=0
See if on reboot makes any difference.
There wasn’t a iwlwifi.conf
file, I created one, saved, rebooted, no difference.
