Assassin's Creed used to be a brand

pretty much whatever Ubisoft thinks is a good idea, it’s a even greater idea to do the opposite … almost every single time.

Video talks about how Square Enix, Tencent, and major game companies from Japan and China, lost money and gamer satisfaction worldwide, whenever their subsidiaries in France or the USA were in charge of a game [Avengers, Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed], while their own original IP from Japan and China [Final Fantasy etc.] do pretty well especially in France or the USA:

[Ubisoft, Square Enix outside Japan are] making games for nobody but themselves and they’re selling fewer with every release.

Particularly Square Enix fired a substantial number of staff, but only outside Japan, and then released new Final Fantasy products, with other Western brands, namely Magic: The Gathering cards, so not even a video game, that made tons of money outside Japan.

why [..] Capcom is selling like crazy […] Why almost always it’s the Eastern games that do considerably better […] Nintendo … Black Myth Wukong … And since then, the East has been delivering banger after banger for a reason … because they are not Western made. … pretty much whatever Ubisoft thinks is a good idea, it’s a even greater idea to do the opposite … almost every single time.

The video concludes that even Eastern AI is going to do a better job, as long as the AI is controlled and trained by, say, Square Enix in Japan, and sensisitive to Japan’s culture, when working on new games.

Yeah well that’s what happens when you go “woke”(come on guys we need to find a better name for these crazy people).

In Japan thy are actively fighting this trend and is making laws to protect their culture(like Anime, games and so on.

Anyway thanks for video @cc_spicuous :+1:

This is what we all are confronted with today. As AI controls more, and, more…

And Skynet is a few years late but is coming! :grimacing:

One word suggestion was “de-californication,” hence “californication” might be appropriate.

Eh…sure but don’t I like that one either.

You are way to deep into the post gamer-gate, (anti-)woke YT content slob. If someone quotes Asmondgold or even knows who he is that is a clear sign of aimlessly wandering in the wilderness. It is going to fry your brain eventually.

The technical term for the psychology is: moral licensing.

Why not just imbecile? :winking_face_with_tongue:

“a stupid person or a person having very low intelligence or an intellectual disability”

Yeah that fits them very well. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

To be honest, up to few weeks ago, and this few days ago, I haven’t paid attention to YT / Twitch streamers, gamers, gaming, Hollywood, and the like for basically since 2005. (I’ve just watched “The Hobbit” for first time, and the latest LotR Rings of Power on German free TV.) I’m quite surprised about what happened to and in entertainment, if that and what they appear to point to was true or real.

I thank you for the nudge and warning.

EDIT: What is “post gamer gate” anyway?!

YT videos are just that—that means blog posts from 2014 were just that. And other trends are just that.

The Tencent stake in the Ubisoft joint venture is over a billion dollars, as the Americans like to say, billion with B. And if Nintendo, Sony, Square Enix etc. have an opinion and it’s part of YT, it’s still about Japanese companies doing something — you can always read up industry news on Reuters and Associated Press, for doublechecking.

Thanks @r0ckhopper for helping out.

Ironically, this sounds like very deep deep internet slob from 2014/2015. I take such warnings quite seriously, it’s very credible, says alot about people who bring that up.

Wow! That Wikipedia garbage is total Bullshit that was NOT was it was or what it stood for!

Now I remember why I don’t use Wikipedia anymore.

It’s full of false info, inaccuracies and “crazy people” slop.

I didn’t even follow the events closely and even I got that after 5min research. :person_facepalming:

If any of you want to know what really happened?! Find some good YouTuber who made an video on the subject because I don’t know all details of events.
