i have changed systemd so it boots straight to the os unless you press a key when powering on, this is how my pc boots, press power button → gigabyte splash screen → bunch of code saying my system is booring ok → plasma logo loading → desktop. I just ditched my dualboot setup a couple days ago, when dualbooting i changed to silent boot and it seem to curt some seconds there but reading the forum it seems the pc should be booting in around 15-20 seconds, i also just added jellyfin service to run on boot but even before that it was taking around 30+ seconds to boot. Im running the latest version of the OS, using Plasma KDE and the only other thing that is a suspect are my drives, the OS is on a gen4 nvme, i have another 1tb gen3 nvme, a 1 tb hdd and a really old 500gb hdd wich im thinking may be the culprit. Just want to know if this is normal or should i check something on my system.

“Normal” is very contested in all areas of life. When it comes to operating systems, hardware, software configuration, there are no two setups that are alike. So difficult to establish any norms for “normalcy”. 
But yes, the output from the command line above could help to discern that nothing totally abnormal is going on on your system

I had a long boot time as well, some days back.
I used the above commands to see what was going on. It then became clear that the problem happened even before the actual boot process started
I then used efibootmgr to analyse the boot order.

Yeah i know “normal” can be different from person to person lol but it does seem like the regular boot time is around 20secs also learning about the analyze commands thanks to the forums, will try that once im at home on my pc.
So heres one other thing i remember, the 1tb hdd had, for whatever reason, a windows partition in there that i was made aware bc of systemd boot options, i had EOS on my gen4 nvme and formatted my other nvme within EOS, then after backing up my media from the 1tb HDD i formatted it too, maybe there was some leftover from that partition or something, the 500gb one is ntfs still bc i was planning on retiring it, it gave me warnings on crystaldiskinfo and it looks like is about to die, was planning on unplugging it and checking boot times to see if anything changed, now i have some other options to try.

It depends on when you are counting the time from. Mine is about 22 seconds if i count from the time i press the power button. It’s a heck of a lot less if I’m counting from the time it shows booting on the screen after the initial startup.
I´m counting after i press the power button, i was thinking if it was good to disable splashscreen of my motherboard and do “silent boot” on linux, but i want to see if theres something else going on first.
If you have Ryzen CPU and DDR5 memory then there is a chance your motherboard is trainig/calibrating the memory each boot which can take about 30-40 seconds. At least my MSI motherboard did that. Latest bios update improved the situation significantly for me.
im on a 5600x and ddr4 so no memory training like ddr5.

That’s quite a difference to the 30ish seconds you’ve claimed.
Seems to be fine, I have a similar setup (Ryzen 5 5600) and it’s only a few tenth of a second slower than yours. 5.659s until dev.ttyS1.device is reached.

Example from one of my systems:
$ systemd-analyze
Startup finished in 2.685s (firmware) + 3.810s (loader) + 3.642s (kernel) + 1.070s (initrd) + 6.028s (userspace) = 17.237s
graphical.target reached after 6.028s in userspace.
I’ve got another system which shows 10-12 seconds for firmware. So it may be your case that you have a “slow” firmware.
I’ll just add mine for comparison purposes
$ systemd-analyze
Startup finished in 11.393s (firmware) + 4.452s (loader) + 659ms (kernel) + 5.406s (initrd) + 2.831s (userspace) = 24.744s
graphical.target reached after 2.586s in userspace.
Btw it takes longer bc of the bios splash screen from my motherboard, that’s why I’m thinking of disabling it, I remember there’s an option on systemd boot to boot to uefi right? If it is a slow firmware, can u change something to make it faster? It’s on a Gen 4 nvme.

If firmware takes its time to do what it is supposed to do, I don’t know how to speed that up. Maybe others know. Also if you can disable any splashing, spinning etc. perhaps you can gain a couple more seconds.

Yeah I get what you mean, I turn off and on my pc a couple times a day bc I have kids lol I may need to move my desk to another place in the house, but just checking to see if the processes looked right to other people.
