AMD radeon release notes - Where is 6k series?

This dual is pretty good, even better for small cases, mini iTX and all.

By the time i get to use it it will be so outdated.

If you are just running superb, don’t worry

You could get one of these?

Edit: They are a bit on the expensive side!

I don’t think my PSU would run one of these, the 90’s really push the PSU.
I think that the best GPU today from AMD is the 7800 xt, bang for the buck,

If you check 7700 xt, the price is so close to the 7800 xt that I don’t think it worth it, just get a 7800xt.

But, if you check closely, you will see that the 6800xt performs really close to the 7800 xt, so there isn’t a real generation jump there.

If I were to buy a GPU today, I would compare prices between 6800xt and 7800xt, and depending on the difference, I would get one of those.

I think i would go the extra and get the 7800XT. They do have some MSI 6800XT cheaper @ $599 Cdn. But the 7800XT is either an Asus or Sapphire card which i like both and almost same prices @ $729 Cdn and $749 Cdn

I don’t think they are selling too much of those, if you see, there are already dropping prices which is a clear indication that these cards are stuck in the stock.
Prices may continue to drop.

Yes … the 7900 XT and 7950 XTX are $1000+ and $1500+ Cdn. Which is way too much.

I don’t even think about it, when I’m checking prices, I just close my eyes when one of those appears in my screen

the reasoning behind that has nothing to do with aging better.

In the 6000 series, the 6800 and 6900 shared the same chip (the 6900 had the full chip and the 6800 the cut down part) and the 6700/6700XT/6750XT had a separate chip that was clearly positioned below and also had a lot less power consumption compared to 6800 and 6900.

In the 7000 series, the 7700 and 7800 share the same chip (the 7800 has the full chip and the 7700 has the cut down chip) and both have reasonable power consumption. The only ones with bigger chips in this series are the 7900 XT and XTX. Those have the chip that would be comparable to the 6800 and 6900 one.

hm, I wasn’t aware of these details.

But, when I say aging better I mean, if you got a 6800xt at that time, you would be better served today compared to other GPUs.

But thanks for the info…

only if you ignore power consumption. that was the main reason why I went with the 6750XT instead of the 6800XT and even limited it further to 170W TDP - it still produces 60 FPS in all my games at 1440p.

Indeed, I agree with you.
I was speaking about FPS only, so we are both right but with different point of views :joy:

The current Adrenalin update 23.10.1 also affects the 6000 series.

-System freeze or black screen when playing video files on Radeonā„¢ RX 6000 Series Graphics Products.

It seems that the 6000 series and those below only receive bug fixes. well at least they won’t be forgotten.
However, I would like graphics cards to be provided with features for a little longer and not be pushed aside after a short time.

They dropped out 23.10.1, its is causing problems to CS2 due to the use of anti-lag+.
It seems that users are getting VAC BAN because of it, something related to a .dll.

AMD’s latest driver has made their ā€œAnti-Lag/+ā€ feature available for CS2, which is implemented by detouring engine dll functions.

If you are an AMD customer and play CS2, DO NOT ENABLE ANTI-LAG/+; any tampering with CS code will result in a VAC ban.

Once AMD ships an update we can do the work of identifying affected users and reversing their ban.

I’m using anti-lag, not anti-lag+ because I don’t have a RDNA3 GPU…

If you enable Fidelity FX (It renders the frame earlier in the pipeline) in CS2 with anti-lag enabled, and try to push the bottleneck to the CPU instead of the GPU, you can get up to 3ms of delay only in the Frametime, which is fantastic.

Also, in the game console, set fps_max 0.

I’m getting more than 400 FPS and frametime below 3 ms with 5800x3d and a RX 6750xt.

Sadly my setup is a bit old, my motherboard emulate pci 3.0 :') I currently have a i7-3820 4c 8t @3.8ghz, 16g ddr3 1600mhz and a rx 6700xt. With that i got 90/130 fps with optimized settings to balance fps/beauty.

With time and necessity you eventually upgrade, if it is working, why replace it ?
