Honestly, there’s more wrong here than trusting AI.
I would trust the intern to screwing up far far far far far less that AI.
Technically, it’s their own fault. They kept backups on the same volume as the data and gave the AI unfettered access to prod. Frankly, they deserve it.
- No regular off site backups.
- Deploying directly to prod.
- Giving AI unfettered access to back end architecture.
Honestly, there’s a list of bad decisions that brought them here, and there are likely a lot more. Hopefully they’ve run a disaster recovery test and they are able to actually use the 3 month old backup. (they probably haven’t)
