After updating the os, boot is stuck without getting to the grub menu and only showing the pc manufacturer logo

Hey!

I updated my endeavouros installation today. It first failed, because I have an NVIDIA Graphics card and I had to reinstall the Linux firmware.

Then I rebooted and since then my system is stuck on boot, without getting to the grub menu at all.

I tried pressing (and holding for like a minute) Escape or shift after boot for several times and nothing opened. Every f“x“ button for the BIOS is also not working. The keyboard on my laptop not even reacts when I am pressing the numpad button (usually there is a light on or off after I press it)

I updated the system after months, so it could be that I messed that one up (idk if that does something, I usually had no problems with updating only after weeks and months)

(And yes my screen is dirty af I know xD)

Make sure you get the latest systemd:258.3
It was just pushed into Arch’s stable repo.

I cannot access my os at all, I cannot install anything.

Or what do you mean exactly?

There has been several reports the past few days about non-booting systems which seemed to have something to do with systemd 258.2.

Therefore the new point version should address this issue.

You need to chroot into your system and update again.

Choose the method according to your system.

Alright, I probably need a live usb stick for that right?

I’ll try to get one.

Yes. A live USB with preferably Arch (-based) ISO to have access to arch-chroot command.

Ubuntu (etc.) has also arch-install-scripts in thier repo.

I tried doing that, it still doesn’t fixed it

Only option in BIOS is this.

I tried repairing my systemd, install the newest kernel, moved it to my sda2 partition since my fat partition was full.

Not sure but it looks like you don’t have any bootloader for your system to boot.

No Bootlader, No Boot Option?

Do you use Grub or systemd-boot?

I think I used systemd.

But I was so frustrated last night, that I saved my data and reinstalled my system from a live usb.

I appreciate your tries to help me though!!

But yeah I meddled around and I think my bootloader was missing. I tried fix it myself but had no luck
