Hi all! After yesterday’s update, the entire contents of the /boot folder disappeared from the system. Only intel-ucode.img remains. I don’t know what happened. I can’t provide any further details right now, but I’ll include the necessary information tomorrow. The main question is: is it possible to rebuild the entire UEFI, or will I have to do a clean install of the system? I can run chroot, but trying to install GRUB or run updates doesn’t change anything. Generally, the system had been running for a very long time without any intervention, until today when I realized it was no longer working.
Ohh sorry. I’m sorry for the mistake. It’s just a habit. Of course, I used systemd-boot. And because of my oversight, I was looking for a solution in the wrong place. Okay, now it makes sense, and I know what to look for. Thank you for pointing that out!
Ok! I mount my efi partition in /mnt. and I see loader.conf, but Its contents are strange. I suspect that Ubuntu on the second drive has changed something.
default c5dd0eec0fe74784898f765c699f6c00*
timeout 5
console-mode auto
reboot-for-bitlocker 1
Now I’m going to try to find more information on how to fix this. To be honest, I’ve never encountered a situation like this before; it seems difficult.
I I did it! I mounted the main partition at /mnt and the EFI partition at /mnt/efi. Then I installed bootctl and reinstalled the kernels. I got two messages saying that the basic configuration entries had been restored, and… that’s it!
Before this thread is closed: Is there a way to prevent this from happening in the future? Are there any surefire ways to keep the loader from being deleted?
