Advantages and Disadvantages of EndeavourOS

You have all this with your current debian installation. Why do you want to leave debian? If stability is what counts for you, you will never find something better than debian. Why are you looking for something else?
@mbod

I am using arch now. Picture in opening post.
Cheers

Doesn’t sound like Arch/EndeavourOS is for you. Rolling Release are subject to have an occasional issue. As @mbod as pointed out your on the most stable system with Debian.

We use pacman and yay nothing like what OpenSuse does because Arch is a very different philosophy.

Again if you are worried about updates your better off with Debian (IMHO)

This probably comes from Arch itself which is being willing to read and do the research to solve ones own problems.

They would be better off using something non-arch

You have not read the original post.
I am using Arch, I have used Debian but the older software / system is not the best for me now.
When I used Debian it mattered but not now.
I am not totally new to be honest and know my way around most distros.
It was a question in the first post that was relevant.

That is usually from people who have no idea what a rolling release model entails. Arch demands a modicum of willingness to read and learn from the Arch Wiki, whether you use Arch proper or some spin like EndeavourOS. I run Arch for years without issue or hiccup, but I read the Wiki and the news and have very cautious habits. I run Debian on my main system and Arch on a secondary computer. I also build and maintain my Arch Linux based spin, Ezarcher.

Thanks for the reply mate.
Thats my approach to Arch and Arch based stuff.
Tread with caution and read what updates are killing systems.
Debian is less fuss but older software is a pain in the back eye sometimes.
I have always been careful with Arch and in all the years I have had it installed on and off I have never had a no boot.
I just thought EOS would have something different to what I am used to and maybe not let updates break stuff.
But Thanks again

Advantages and Disadvantages of EndeavourOS:

Once settled, it is almost impossible to not come back every time you try something else.

I read your post.

I also answered it the most appropriate way I could.

Honestly I find issues when you post things like you use Arch but is worried about it “breaking” If you have experience with Arch then what is the ISSUE?

This statement here makes it seem like your trolling. NO I’m not saying you are but you come here showing off a screen shot that honestly could have been downloaded from anywhere claiming you use arch but are SCARED of it do to horror stories you heard. Just doesn’t seem to make much sense to me. But I wish the best in your Endeavors.

Until one learns to build their own Arch Linux based system. :sunglasses:

Good Luck I hope you find what you looking for.

Toxic? Not that much? The user only tried to give honest opinion.
Could be sounding a bit harsh, but I do not think @thefrog is a toxic user in general.
